Can Do Generation Day

Can Do Generation will celebrate their one year anniversary on a high note after beating Wardens Suva 15-10 in the Nukubati Resort/CBM Youths Sevens tournament Cup final at Subrail Park Labasa yesterday.
Team coach/player Papi Tanoa was delighted after they received $5,000.
“Today is the happiest day for our team as we have completed one year together,” Tanoa said.
“We have a squad of 30 players from around Vanua Levu.
“The idea of forming a team was incepted by our Pastor Viliame Gauna of the Christian Mission Fellowship Labasa.
“We are going to save this prizemoney as we are planning to play in Malaysia next year.
“We are thankful to God, families, friends and the team management for their love and support.
“We dedicate this win to them as without them we are nothing.”
Nukubati Resort owners Peter and Jenny Bourke were happy to support the tournament.
“We need to recognise the youths especially in Vanua Levu and sports like this promotes opportunities and sports development which we are happy to support,” Bourke said.
“We had spent close to $20,000 in sponsoring this tournament which had given the opportunity for the women to also participate.”
