Letting go of distractions in her life allowed Ilisabeta Laisa to focus on what really matters.

She took heed of this advice from her parents. She had to let go of the relationships that did not help in achieving her goal.

It all paid off on Wednesday when Ms Laisa was presented the Dux during at the Levuka Public School prizegiving.

The 19-year-old of Wainaloka Village scored 93 in Maths.

Her offer letter from the University of the South Pacific to study Accounting and Information System has her on the way to becoming an auditor; a profession her parents wished for her.

“Now my future seems bright and clear as I move on,” she said.

“All I can say is thank God Almighty for directing me through his direction.

“And also I want to thank my parents for their support and words of encouragement throughout my education.”

National Substance Abuse Advisory Council Director, Manoa Senikarawa, was chief guest at the event.
