Authority To Upgrade Tickets For Offenders

The Land Transport Authority is currently putting in place the issuance of electronic tickets for traffic offenders caught by their vehicles on duty.
LTA board chairman Vijay Maharaj said the installation of tough pad and rugged printers in their vehicles was for instant issuance of notices to offenders.
He said LTA was planning to buy seven new fully equipped vehicles.
“Each vehicle will be equipped with touchpads with portable printers, heat guns for testing brakes, portable scales, laser speed guns and surveillance cameras.
He said over 6000 Traffic Infringement Notices (TIN) were issued from August through October while 2000 defect orders were issued over the same period.
Mr Maharaj confirmed that customers of LTA could now register online to access the authority’s new range of web-based services that were focused on registration and licensing.
