Suva One have defended their title in the boy’s category of the Central Division FMF Chow Games at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, yesterday. They won a total of 28 medals- 15 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze.

Head coach Viliame Momo told SUNsports that although competition was much tougher this year, they have instilled in their athletes that hard work always pays off.

“First of all, we would like to give our appreciation to the Lord for being the pillar and strength of our team as this was all for the children,” the no-nonsense coach said.

“The competition is just the same as previous years. It is always tough and keeps getting tougher.

“But I have told my athletes that nothing comes easy without hard work and sacrifice, it took time and effort for our athletes to be here and compete.

“It is not easy and we kept a low profile and didn’t think about what was expected of us, we just focused on what we needed to improve on.

“These athletes have worked so hard and turned up to training every day. We take our hats off to Veiuto for being different this year and winning the girls division.

“We are humble in our victory and we are just happy that we could produce another result this year.”

Nasinu came second with 6 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze medals while Tailevu South settled for the third spot with 6 gold, 9 silver, and 6 bronze medals.
