QVS High Achiever Wants To Be Aircraft Engineer

Queen Victoria School student Jope Davetanivalu says he wants to become an aircraft engineer.
He clinched an outstanding award in Applied Technology during the Ratu Sukuna Memorial School’s Awards Ceremony.
Jope was one of many QVS students who had been relocated to a different school after Tropical Cyclone Winston left the school completely ruined in February.
“Although my parents are not here today, I still feel proud of my award and dedicate it to them,” he said.
Jope said he was determined to make his parents proud, which had pushed him to study hard.
Although he adapted to the new school system, he says that he greatly missed his old school and is eager to return.
“The biggest challenge I faced was trying to mingle with the teachers because they were very strict and I also found it difficult to come to school on time from my home in Caubati,” he said.
Jope said he was passionate about his studies and he studied about two hours after coming home from school.
The young achiever is originally from Naitasiri.
