Australians Top Overstay List Here: Department

Australians top the list of overstayers or persons who are not holders of valid permits.
A list of 310 individuals was released by the Fiji Immigration Department and published by the Fiji Sun last Saturday.
Sixty six are from Australia. Their last known registered addresses were hotels or resorts.
The list, signed by Director of Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa, was titled Publication of Information about prohibited immigrants.
The second highest are the Americans.
Forty-six registered with a number of hotels in the West as their last known address.
Twenty four Germans are also on the list.
From our neigbouring Pacific island countries, Tuvaluan nationals topped the list with 32. Kiribati registered 27.
Countries which only registered one person include New Zealand, Moldova, Pakistan, Slovakia, Brazil, India, Hong Kong and Estonia.
The notice is in pursuant to Part 4 section 13(a) and Part 9 section 67 of the Immigration Act 2003.
“Members of the public are requested to provide any information that may assist the Department to locate the concerned individuals as they have overstayed their respective permits,” the notice said.
