Car Crashes Into Property

It was an unusual Sunday afternoon yesterday for the Bogitini family of James Madhavan Street in Labasa when a car crashed onto the porch into their fenced compound yesterday.
It happened within seconds, says Sera Bogitini when describing the accident which could have taken her husband’s life in their own veranda.
“We were all sitting inside the house when my husband, Samuela Bogitini, said he wanted to go wash the car,” Ms Bogitini said.
“As soon as he walked out the door, we heard this loud thump from outside. It happened within split seconds, I did not even have time to warn him to move away from where he was standing.”
A car alleged to have been over-speeding had torn their fence and found its way into their compound, pushing their own vehicle to the other side of the fence.
Mr Bogitini, who was less than a metre away from the vehicle’s point of contact, was fortunately not harmed.
Mrs Bogitini said; “This is the first time for us to experience something like this.”
“One of my main concerns were the children who had screamed from the car, I told my children to get water and some chairs for them.”
When the Fiji Sun team arrived to the scene of the incident, a Police officer had just started his investigations there.
In the green vehicle were the driver, three were small children and a woman.
It is also alleged that the car had loud music on when the incident happened.
