School Dux
Tukai Lagonilakeba, Nadi
Natabua High School (NHS) in Lautoka is one of Government’s largest secondary schools in Fiji.
It has a roll of more than 1300 students annually, and the institution enjoys very high achievers in terms of their pass rate, but it does not give out prizes for Dux or best all rounder’s to students.
Each student is treated the same in their academic curricular and extracurricular achievements.
Each student’s personal examination mark is in itself their prize and a bench mark from their personal sacrifices.
Highlighted in the Fiji Sun were the many students who have attained their Dux status in their respective school’s together with their humble stories of one’s individual achievement.
But most inspiring are the ones who were affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston, whom many were subjected to do their homework under harsh conditions and endured studying in the comfort of their kerosene lamps and candles.
Realistically there is no substitute for hard work, perseverance and self belief.
Our Government has made education accessible and free to all Fijians from kindergarten to Year 13, irrespective of your social status or where you live.
The sky is the limit, students.
Please, grasp the opportunities and make yourselves become qualified in whatever field you best choose, so that you can all become responsible productive role models and citizens of our beloved country in contributing positively to our national economy.
Trump Leadership
Savenaca Vakaliwaliwa, Canada
All President-Elect Donald Trump supporters got this email, which is mind blowing because he really is there to do what the people want.
The election may be over, but our work is just getting started.
In 62 days, we begin our mission to Make America Great Again!
As I’ve said so many times before, I will not be able to do it alone. I’ll need you to step up and play an active role in fixing our country and enacting our platform for America.
Which is why I’m asking you to take the 100-Day Plan of Action Survey, so that we can determine what we MUST accomplish as our first order of business.
Our first hundred days in office will set the stage for our entire presidency.
The world will be watching every action we take over those first hundred days. It’s incredibly important that we set the right agenda and deliver on our promises to the forgotten men and women of our country.
While our transition team is busily assembling our cabinet as I write this to you, I need you to step up and help craft our plan of action for the first hundred days of the TRUMP Administration.
Please take our 100-Day Plan of Action Survey to help our transition team set the right agenda for our first few months in office.
Thank you,
Donald J. Trump
President-Elect of the United States of America
The 100-Day Plan of Action Survey contains a questionnaire with 29 key issues, which the majority of Americans wanted changed and the people were to tick one of the four in every issue: highly important, somewhat important, not important, or no option.
How many leaders out there start with the people, are elected by the people and lead with and by the people?
A good lesson for our Fijian leaders and political parties, preparing for the upcoming general election.
Rugby Support
Wise Muavono, Lautoka
Of course every Fijian will now have their own opinions regarding the Vodafone Flying Fijians test rugby performance against England.
But, I won’t sit here and write expressing my views pretending to be a sports analyst and exposing any gullible reader to my fragrant untruth.
Win or lose they will always have my support.
Areh, Go Fiji, go.
