McKee: Focus On Rugby World Cup

Vodafone Flying Fijians head coach John Mckee said their focus should be on the next Rugby World Cup (RWC) despite going down to England 58-15 at Twickenham.
“We need to begin building for the next World Cup.
“We’re trying to bring a little bit of change to the team now,” McKee told Planet Rugby.
“We haven’t qualified for the next Rugby World Cup yet and have some important games next June with Samoa and Tonga, but we certainly have one step in the door now.
“Really we need to start having one eye on 2019 and building our systems and our team for that tournament.”
Focussing on their match against England, Mckee said they got some positive vibes out of the match.
“For us I thought at times we were good in attack and we had good ball, we did some good things with it,” he added.
“Our scrum and lineout were good today but defensively we gave England too many easy metres and a good side like that really capitalise on the space and score some good tries.
England were very good in attack, very clinical. They ran hard. We allowed them too much space and that got them out on the front foot.”
The Flying Fijians final match in the internationals tour is against Japan in France.
