This One’s For Parents, Says Dux Taraivosa

It was a proud moment for Taraivosa Taqiritawa as she scooped the Dux award yesterday for Nasinu Gospel Primary School.
Taraivosa, who is also the head girl, scored the highest marks in maths and English during the Fiji Eighth Year Examination. She paid tribute to her hardworking parents for her achievement.
“My parents always taught me not to crave for success, but fear failure,” said the proud Kadavu teenager.
Mum Eseta Taqiritawa could not contain her emotions while she spoke of her daughter.
“She’s always been a hard worker and we are all proud of her,” said Ms Taqiritawa.
Taraivosa, 14, will be joining Adi Cakobau School next year and aspires to be an accountant one day.
Chief executive officer of the Nasinu Town Council, Akhtar Ali, was the chief guest at the prizegiving ceremony.
