The Fiji Police team won the ANZ Ratu Sukuna Bowl boxing after winning five weight categories at the Nasova Police Barracks yesterday.

Coach and fighter Viliame Vitukalulu said their hard work throughout the years has finally paid off.

“It really feels great, first and foremost I would like to thank the Lord who have been our biggest supporter,” Vitukalulu said.

“We have sacrificed a lot throughout the years and we managed to win five grades and I take my hat off to the Commissioner of Police and all the senior officers for their support in the last two months we have been training at the Special Response Unit.

“The families who have come in numbers to support the boys have really boosted their morale throughout the competition.

“We have only won three times, the first in 2010 and in 2014. This is the third time and we are really humbled and blessed to have won this year.

“I take my hat off to our brothers from Republic of Fiji Military Forces as they really put up a good fight.

“I am proud of the boys and for what they have achieved.”
