Christine Fulfils Promise To Mum
Christine Kafoa made a promise to her mother that she would be the first in the family to be a Dux.
The St Joseph the Worker Primary School student fulfilled that promise. Her mother, Tupou Finau, said: “I am proud of my daughter who has given me this moment to cherish.
“I am thankful for her to working so hard and achieving her goals that she had promised me in the beginning of this year.”
The 14-year-old student won four trophies, one shield and five recognition certificates during the school’s prizegiving in Nakasi on Wednesday.
“I have two younger siblings who look up to me as an inspiration,” Christine said.
“I wanted to make sure that I set a good example for them so when their turn comes, they also work hard and study well and achieve their goals.
“I want to inspire them to bring back the Dux award home again in their coming years.”
