Farhana Is First In Family To Be Dux

Farhana Nisha of Siberia, Labasa is the first child in her family to become Dux.
The 18-year-old Arts student of Batinikama College was in tears when she hugged her mother Nanise Tubuisaro during the annual prizegiving on Thursday.
“I can’t tell you how happy and accomplished I feel today,” Farhana said.
“Being the first among my five siblings to complete secondary education and getting a Dux award is very meaningful to me.
“This achievement is not only because of my hard work but it was made possible through the collective effort of my siblings and parents.
“My siblings had always encouraged me to focus in my study and supplied my needs,” she said.
“My father, Mohammed Hanif was a fisherman and since he suffered from leg injuries he has to take bed rest.
“Although I feel sad not having my father standing beside me to see how the crowd cheered when I walked up to the stage, I will always be thankful to him for allowing me to purse my dreams.”
