New Fiji National Rugby League Board Members Elected

Five new board of directors have been elected during the Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) annual general meeting at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay yesterday.
Newly elected are Iliesa Ratuva, Jonetani Nasau, Peni Musunamasi, Maika Vunivere and Simon Lomaloma while Filimoni Vosarogo has been re-elected.
Those who have left the board are Tomi Finau, Kini Sarai, Sosiveta Boila and Joeli Savou.
The chairman and vice-chairman role will be decided in a board meeting next week.
FNRL chief executive officer Timoci Naleba said the AGM was positive where all clubs agreed to the agendas being discussed and issues that were raised.
“I think the AGM went really well, even though we started late because of the Western clubs coming in late, we had a good session,” Naleba said.
“The flow of the agenda and the genuine issues raised was overall good and positive and I would say that it was a success.
“All the clubs were happy with what we presented and looking at the responses and the discussions held by all parties, everyone was in agreement.
“Everything went smoothly and we are happy to have our five new board of directors and know that they will be doing their job well so congratulations to them.”
Naleba said they have presented an income generating idea to the clubs to help fund tournaments and grow the sport.
“Some concerns that were raised are the lack of resources that we have. We lack funds when we want to try to expand and grow the sport to improve it so the board presented income streams that we have planned.
“The clubs were very happy to hear this, especially since this was an issue raised in the AGM last year.
“This way, we can save up money and aim towards growing the sport and expanding it, so we are happy with the response we have been getting.”
Vosarogo is currently the chairman for FNRL until a new one is appointed next week.
