It was a proud moment for Pawan Prasad who took top honours at her school on Friday as she scored the highest mark in her school’s Year 13 exams.

The Baulevu High School student scooped the Dux award at the school’s prizegiving ceremony.

Pawan scored a mark of 380 in the Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination where she got 99 in maths.

“I’m thankful to the support of my parents and teachers and I thank GOD for all that I’ve achieved today,” said the beaming 18-year-old.

Her advice to other students out there is to dream big and work towards that dream.

Pawan will be furthering her studies at the University of the South Pacific and aspires to become a chartered accountant.

Her proud mother Ranjini Lata, said: “The family is just so proud of all her she has achieved.” Edited by Jonathan Bryce
