Dad Presents Son Prize
Lautoka businessman Sanjay Lal was sitting among the invited guests during the Ghandi Bhawan Primary School prizegiving last week.
In the line of place getters, his only child, Krish Krishant Lal, a Year four student, was one of the happiest because he knew he was going to get first place.
Mr Lal was asked to hand out the prizes for some prize winners.
Krish’s face portrayed how surprised and happy he was when he saw his father presenting their prize.
Mr Lal said he was honoured to be handing out prizes but had no idea he would be handing out his son’s.
Mr Lal said he was grateful to the school for giving him that opportunity.
“I don’t think anywhere in Fiji this year a father got the chance to hand his son the first prize,” Mr Lal said.
“I got that chance and it is one of the best thing I had to do for my son.”
