Wearing the white jersey is more than just representing your country it comes down to what you achieve when you put it on.

These were the sentiments of Fijiana XV captain Leilani Burnes who keeps reminding her teammates about the important task ahead of them, which is to qualify for the 2017 Women Rugby World Cup.

“It all comes back to what testimony you want to have,” Burnes said.

“It is great to come in and be able to wear that white jersey but ultimately we want to go all the way and make history, we want to go all the way to the World Cup.

“What a great testimony would it be to say that you are the first female 15s rugby player to qualify in the history of Fiji to go to a rugby world cup.

“So it is about putting things into perspective and just reminding them that we are here as a team with one single heartbeat, we do things together and move together and collectively we will be able to achieve our goal.”

Fiji will play Hong Kong on December 9 and Japan on December 13.
