Police Alleged Involvement In Drink And Drive Incident Opens ‘Pandora’s Box’
Director Traffic Senior Superintendent of Police Mahesh Mishra

ANALYSIS: Recent allegations that a person impersonating Director Traffic Senior Superintendent of Police Mahesh Mishra and allegedly attempted to solicit money from a person caught for alleged drink and drive case, has opened the Pandora’s Box.

The money would supposedly help the file disappear.

Such a case raises questions on how many other people had been duped in a similar manner.

It also raises questions as to how many drivers who were caught by Police for traffic offences did not get their day in court because their files had ‘disappeared’.

This matter needs to be investigated in depth. And, for the past few months, a summary of how many drivers were caught for drink and drive and other traffic offences had their cases heard in court.

And, if the numbers do not tally, Police need to investigate where those files ended up.

Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho has said time and again that there would be no place for bad cops in the force.

Looks like the opening of this Pandora’s Box will go to identify some of those bad cops.
