Welterweight boxer Ronald Naidu is ready to face Serea, Naitasiri native Saimoni Ratu on Saturday.

The two will battle for eight rounds in the Kiran Boxing Promotions at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

The 25-year-old Mulomulo Boxing Club boxer is confident of an upset win.

“My aim is to win even though my opponent is a good fighter,” he said.

“I have not fought since March this year and I’m really looking forward to Saturday.”

In his last fight, he drew with hard-hitting Johnny ‘The Machine Gun’ Singh.

Naidu has fought six professional fights with three wins, two draws and a loss.

“Ronald is working very hard in training and looking forward to win this fight,”  manager Chun Chul Baba said.

“He wants to win and put up a good show for his fans. The two are fighting for the first time and it is anybody’s game but we are confident.

Meanwhile, in the feature fight Navosa slugger Abhay Chand takes on Serea native Opeti Tagi in the super middleweight over 12 rounds.
