A 26-year-old man yesterday pleaded guilty in the High Court to unlawful cultivation of illicit drug.

Isikeli Naqau between October 1, 2015 and December 14, 2015, in Kadavu allegedly cultivated 321 plants of marijuana weighing 6.9 kilogrammes.

Justice Salesi Temo asked Naqau why he had cultivated drugs to which he replied saying it was due to peer pressure.

Naqau promised the court that he would not reoffend and sought forgiveness from the court.

His bail has been extended.

The case has been adjourned to January 31, 2017 for sentencing.
