It was an exciting day for Kelera Adiluvu, 9, after she was among the patients at the Colonial War Memorial Children’s Hospital visited by the Vodafone Fijian Under-20 team yesterday.

Adiluvu’s mother Ro Mereani Vakataleivalu said her daughter had been in hospital for three weeks recovering from a knee infection.

“I was happy to see the boys come and visit the children including my daughter.

“It was a proud moment to see one of the boys Veramu Dikidikilati from our village in Lomai, Waidina  Naitasiri as part of the team.

“It was a good day for her as she got to see the players who we will be watching on TV next week.

“The visit had really made us happy because the boys had really lifted the spirits of the children and I thank them for that,” she said.

Meanwhile, team manager Ame Baleitamavua said the team made sure to set time out to make the visit.

“These are Under-20 players so they had to visit their little brothers and sisters.”

The national side plays Tonga next Saturday 3pm at the ANZ Stadium.
