Top Dancer Wins $3000

Nineteen-year-old Becky Wainiu was $3000 richer on Saturday night after winning the Nescafe Make your Move dance competition at Albert Park in Suva.
“I feel very blessed to have the opportunity from Nescafe to showcase my talents and I thank all the sponsors and stakeholders,” she said.
Ms Wainiu said her family and friends were supportive, especially her parents.
“They were always there for me, and my sister from the beginning of the competition.”
Ms Wainiu and her elder sister, Mary, 20, were among the dance competition’s top six finalists.
She said the competition was challenging and it was not an easy task getting in to the finals.
“The other five finalists were really good and very competitive and competing with my sister was also tight,” Ms Wainui said.
“It was intimidating yet a good experience and we made new friends and socialise but at the end of the day we had to against each other.”
Her family were emotional, shocked and happy at the same time when she was named the winner. All the way from Savusavu, Ms Wainui said: “This is a blessing for me and to God be the glory.”
