The Fijian side are anticipating a tough battle when they face Nauru for the top spot in the Australia Football League (AFL) Under-15 Oceania Cup on Friday.

Nauru trounced Fiji 32-16 in their first round of games yesterday and Fijian coach Maciu Raida said his boys lacked concentration.

“We lost our first match, the boys just lost concentration against Nauru and they didn’t play according to plan,” he said.

“That is history now as we aim to defend our title so we have to fully prepare ourselves as we take on Nauru again in the final.”

Nauru then walloped Tonga in their second match 35-1 and look forward to their second match against Solomon Islands tomorrow.

Nauru coach Zac Temaki is also expecting a tough encounter with the Fijians.

“Fiji plays a tough game. They make hard tackles and they will want to defend their title so we are looking forward to that,

“We also understand that they will not want to lose on their home soil,” Temaki said.
