The Goundar Shipping Limited new vessel the “Lomaiviti Princess IV” has finally arrived into the country last Friday.

Lomaiviti Princess IV and the crews were traditionally welcomed by the staff and management of the Goundar Shipping Limited (GSL) with a “cere” when it berthed at Port Muaiwalu.

GSL managing director, George Goundar said they would start their service in Vanua Levu in the next two weeks.

At the moment the company is waiting for the customs clearance report.

Mr Goundar said once they received the report, they would have to apply for their Coastal Training License (CTL) to Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF).

The CTL he said would be issued by the Ministry of Transport.

At the moment the company is also waiting for the approval from Fiji Ships Heavy Industries Limited (FSHL) for the LPIV to go up for dry dock.

Last Monday afternoon, the LPIV was blessed by two pastors from the Assembly of God’s Church.

The official launch for LPIV will be tomorrow afternoon.

Minister for Local Government, Urban Development, Housing and Environment, Mr Parveen Kumar will be the chief guest.
