The spirits of festivity at the Tokatoka Resort Hotel Nadi, was awaken when its Christmas lights was turned on.

The resort guests and staff attended the annual turning on of its Christmas lights, marking the start of Christmas season.

The lighting ceremony was officiated by Reverend Epironi Toloi from the Salvation Army who spoke about what the Christmas lights meant for every Fijian.

Resort general manager, Nasoni Tamani, said the event was an important day to mark in the calendar of Warwick properties in Fiji.

“December 5 is an important day in our calendar every year and we are glad that we could celebrate with some many guests this year,” Mr Tamani said.

He said the Resort was honoured to have a huge number of guests this festive season.

The bars were also made open for a while for free distribution of drinks, while a choir grouped of children and adults sang Christmas carols.

Mr Toloi told the guests of how Fiji was during the times of their ancestors and what it had become now.

He related the change in Fiji with the Christmas lights saying it also marked the new Fiji.
