New Mess Halls Open In Labasa

Commander hopes facilities will play key role in military activities up North.

The Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) opened two mess halls at the Sukanaivalu Victoria Cross Barracks in Labasa on Monday.

Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto appreciated the mammoth task carried out by the RFMF engineer’s construction team.

He said: “Blessed are the hands of those who have worked tirelessly for the project and I hope that the mess hall will be an important facility for military undertakings in the Northern Division.”

As the Golf Company is geared up for the cyclone season, Rear Admiral Naupoto, opened the mess halls with the insight that the facility would be instrumental for Golf Company personnel in maintaining security, stability and RFMF engineers personnel who are engaged in Government’s development programmes in road constructions, building schools, health centres and rehabilitation projects for cyclone-damaged houses.
