Father of three who left school 15 years ago  was determined to achieve academic results.

Mosese Tukutukunia, a father of three, is more than thrilled to graduate from the South Pacific Bible College after leaving school 15 years ago.

As a child who grew up in a financially unstable family, he said he had no other option but to leave school after sitting for his FSLC (Fiji School Leaving Certificate) Examination.

He heard about the Bible College while farming with his uncle. He joined the college in 2014 and on Tuesday he was presented the Outstanding Student Achievers award during the graduation at the Calvary Temple in Samabula, Suva.

“When returning to school after 15years, I found it really intense. I remember my first semester in Bible College, I scored a C grade and from then onwards, I made the determination not to repeat that mistake again and I worked hard towards that,” Mr Tukutukunia said.

“Reading is a very challenging thing in academics but I had to take up that challenge and that is why I made it through.”

He struggled to understand English when he joined college since he only spoke in the iTaukei language.

“I always make sure I never forget to take my dictionary so that if I come across a new word, I can go back to it easily,” he said.

Attending workshops on English enabled him to speak the language as well.

The 33-years-old father said he had always wanted to study Information Technology but was unable to do so because of his financial situation.

However, he is thankful to God for providing him with the great opportunity, which he accepted without hesitation.
