It has been awhile and the Vodafone Fijian 7s can’t afford to slip again at the Cape Town Sevens this weekend.

The Fijians have returned home without winning the Cup at the Rainbow Nation for the past 11 years, even with former coach Ben Ryan in the last three years.

After coming second best to the Blitzboks in Dubai last week, the Osea Kolinisau-captained team need to end the winless streak and the Cape Town Stadium as it;s long overdue.

Fijians last won the South Africa 7s in 2005 beating Argentina 21-19 at Outeniqua Park.

Fiji is in Pool B with France, Kenya and Japan. South Africa is drawn in Pool A with Australia, USA and Russia. England is in Pool C alongside New Zealand, Argentina and Canada.

Wales, Scotland, Samoa and invitational team Uganda are in Pool D.

Fiji play Japan in the first match on Saturday at 11:05pm (FJ), Kenya at 2:26am Sunday morning and play France in their final pool match at 6:26am.
