group of ladies from the Quilt for Charity Group decorated the Christmas tree at the Colonial Memorial War (CWM) Hospital in Suva, yesterday.

They decorated the Christmas tree with hearts which the group members sewed.

Group member Marina Kahn said: “We sewed about 445 hearts to decorate the Christmas tree.

“The members of the Quilt for Charity Group came up with the idea to sew hearts and decorate the Christmas tree at the CWM Hospital children’s ward.

“It took us about a month to sew these hearts,” she said.

Ms Kahn said they chose to decorate the Christmas tree with the heart because heart symbolises love, care and kindness.

“This year we have only decorated one Christmas tree but we are planning to decorate more Christmas trees in the hospital next year,” she said.

Ms Kahn has wished everyone Merry Christmas.
