Vodafone Fijian Under- 20 striker Leroy Jennings could join Roy Krishna in the A-League football competition in future.

This was after he was drafted in the Newcastle Jets Under- 19 development team.

Jennings, who took part in the Oceania Football Confederation U20 Championship in Vanuatu, is on a trial with the Jets.

Fiji Football Association acting president Tarunesh Reddy is grateful.

“We have been told Jennings has been drafted in the Newcastle Jets U19 development team which is good news for us,”Reddy said.

“It will be good to see another player playing at that level.”

Jennings grew up in Western Sydney and spent time with Los Angeles Galaxy as a junior.

He came through the ranks for Bonnyrigg White Eagles before joining Welsh side Wrexham, playing for their youth side.

“We are happy for him and wish him all the success,”Reddy said.

Meanwhile, Reddy also praised Vodafone Fijian national football team captain Roy Krishna for his performance with the Wellington Phoenix in their 3-0 win against Central Coast Mariners in Hamilton on Saturday.

Krishna scored the third goal for the side in the final minute.

“Krishna is making Fiji football proud and we are grateful. He is a consistent performer with the Wellington Phoenix.

Reddy said it will be good to see more Fijian players secure overseas contract with top football clubs.
