Kadavu Eagle To Deliver Services: Vuniwaqa

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa, on Friday launched a boat called ‘Kadavu Eagle’.
It will be used by the staff members of the ministry to deliver services to villages in Kadavu.
Ms Vuniwaqa said the boat was named after the bird known for the most extra-ordinary powers of flight, determination, precise, fast and intelligent.
“These are the characteristics which we must aspire to as service providers which must guide our daily work,” she said.
Saturday also marked the final day for the 16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.
“The end of the 16 Days activism will not mean the end of the campaign of violence against women because of the phenomenon that’s happening all year around, our statistics speaks for itself,” said Ms Vuniwaqa.
“I am very pleased and impressed with the achievements during the 16 days,” she said.
She appreciated the NGO’s, stakeholders and religious partners for their continued support and efforts.
Mrs Vuniwaqa also commented on the second phase of Help for Homes initiative where the Ministry of Women Children and Poverty Alleviation is on standby.
“The date confirmed is Wednesday, December 14,” she said.
