The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is disappointed with districts that failed to field their clubs in the Vodafone National Club Championship in Ba over the weekend.

Fiji FA acting president Tarunesh Reddy said yesterday that they are disappointed as some top districts have missed out in the NCC this year.

“Districts like Rewa and Labasa have not fielded their club in the NCC,” Reddy said.

“They (Rewa and Labasa) should have completed their local league competition before the end of the season. We note that we had a busy year with the national team commitments but districts should have organised their calendar properly. Top districts like, Rewa and Labasa not fielding their clubs in the NCC is not good.

“We did not take any action this year against the districts who have not nominated their clubs but next year we will come hard on the districts who do not finish their club competition on time,” Reddy added.

Rewa Football president Nazeel Buksh said most of their players were playing for the Vodafone national teams as well as lack of referees delayed their local league from finishing on time.

“It was something that was beyond our control as we wanted to compete in the NCC.”

The Rewa club competition continued in Manoca, Nausori and will be completed next week.
