Pal: Youth Playoffs To Be A Thriller

The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is expecting a tough competition in the Vodafone Youth League final playoffs which kicks- off tomorrow at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Suva.

Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal told SUNsports yesterday the Youth League would be a highly competitive one.

“Rewa, Ba and Labasa will be competing and they are coming in well-prepared,” he said.

“The youth league features players below 19- years of age and the competition will give the young players a lot of exposure.”

Defending champions Rewa and Ba are favourites to win.

Rewa have been boosted with the presence of their district rep Bruce Hughes while Ba will be fielding their district rep Jonetani Newa. Both players have been impressive this season.

“We are expecting a tough battle,” Pal said.

“The competition will be played on a single round basis where the team with the most number of points will be crowned the winner.”

The winners will receive $4000 while the runner-up gets $1000.
