A 54-year-old expatriate volunteer worker was bound at his home in Nadi early yesterday in what Police describe as an aggravated robbery.

The man, who does volunteer work at Swami Vivekanand College in Malolo, Nadi, was confronted by two men at his home near the school.

It is believed the incident occurred between 2.30am and 3am. The volunteer worker was asleep when the men broke in.

The men bound the volunteer worker and ransacked his home and are believed to have made off with more than $700 cash.

The men also stole his vehicle, a Toyota Sprinter which was later found at Namudu in Sigatoka yesterday.

It was unclear whether the volunteer worker was hurt in the process.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro, said the case was being treated as an aggravated robbery and investigations were continuing.
