A Labasa man charged with stabbing his de facto partner last month has been further remanded by the High Court in Labasa.

Semi Vucui, who appeared before Justice Salesi Temo yesterday, currently faces a count of acting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The prosecution had asked the court for some time as they were considering an attempted murder charge for the accused. The alleged incident is said to have taken place on November 26.

State lawyer from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Lisiate Fotofili, said the victim’s stomach had been wounded in the course of the incident.

The accused is represented by Gibson and Company lawyer Kelepi Ratule.

The case has been adjourned to January 24.
