Yasawa Island Resort and Spa owner James McCann has remained positive of their overall performance this year despite Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Mr McCann said although TC Winston earlier in February did not leave any physical damages to the resort, it affected their bookings.

“Apart from being closed for 10 days for clean-up we had absolutely no affect physically, nor any damage at all but it did affect our forward bookings,” he said.

Mr McCann said the resort since then had undertaken many upgrade works including upgrading of its airstrip road.

“We have done extensive works including new bathrooms in our rooms, new outdoor furniture for beach huts, new bar furniture, new pool umbrellas.”

“The Resort upgraded the water treatment plant, sewerage treatment plant, installed new guest footpaths, upgrading works to our Airport road.”

This year the Yasawa Island Resort and Spa had been listed one of the top 10 Luxury Resorts in Fiji by Trip Advisor and also one of the top 10 Small Resorts in Fiji.

It has further been accredited with Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor 2016.

The Resort has also been recommended by Andrew Harper and World Luxury Spa 2016.

Mr McCann looks forward to a prosperous year for the Resort with the upgrades and developments.
