The new $2 million NewWorld Supermarket in Labasa will be opening its doors for business today.
Located at Naiyaca subdivision, the supermarket will be providing the much awaited full return of NewWorld to the Northern town.
NewWorld Fiji Limited general manager Peter Royce said people could now choose from a wide range of products available at the supermarket.
“This supermarket will cater more than 14,000 Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) which means more than 14,000 different types of products will be available,” Mr Royce said.
“We will also provide more fresh products.”
He also said the biggest advantage for people would be the availability of parking lots which would be available for the customers.
“We are providing the biggest area of car parking accommodating more than 100 vehicles.
“For those who do not have a vehicle, they do not have worry as we have arranged a shuttle bus that will daily pick and drop passengers.”
Mr Royce also said the opening of the new supermarket would ease the problem for many shoppers in Labasa as they had been facing congestion problems.
Approximately 70 people are expected to be employed after the supermarket starts trading.
