Hospitality Produces 115 Global Workers

About 115 students from various disciplines from the Department of Hospitality at the Fiji National University, National Training and Productivity Centre, graduated yesterday.
The mini graduation was conducted for the Semester Two students at the Fiji National University Nadi campus.
Speaking to the graduates, the Deputy Director- National Training and Productivity Centre/Executive Management Hospitality Services, Satendra Nair said the centre was mandated to provide training for establishments to be efficient and competent in both domestic and the global markets.
“The NTPC being the national training centre, is mandated to provide training for organisations so that they transform to become efficient, productive and competent in the domestic, regional and global market,” Mr Nair said.
While congratulating the students he said, “During your time with us at the training centre, you have developed a set of distinct knowledge and qualities which describe the unique ability that you will need as you move in the industry, specifically the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.”
He said the situation currently facing Fiji which was the gap between the demand and supply of skilled workers.
“Such training will fill that gap leading to customers especially in the hotel and tourism sector to experience a better and improved service.”
