FICAC Given Time To Consolidate Charges For Accused

Magistrate Makereta Mua has given time to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) to consolidate the two files they have against the former Secretary of the Independent Legal Services Commission.
Afrana Rahiman Nisha appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Nisha has two files with numerous charges against her by FICAC.
For the first file she is charged with a count each of falsification of documents, obtaining a financial advantage and causing a loss.
For the second file she is charged with five counts each of falsification of documents and a count of obtaining a financial advantage.
It is alleged that between July 1, 2012 and August 2, 2012, Nisha falsified cheques amounting to $3450 by forging the signature of the Solicitor General of Fiji, Sharvada Sharma.
It is also alleged that between June 1, 2014 and September 30, 2014, Nisha falsified five cheques amounting to $10,149.10 by forging the signature of the Solicitor General of Fiji, Sharvada Sharma.
The case has been adjourned to January 11, 2017, for consolidating the charges.
