Kesaia Naluva graduated with her Bachelors in Nursing yesterday and will celebrate her success along with her 21st birthday tomorrow.

Hailing from Rararua Village in Sigatoka, Ms Naluva graduated from the Fiji National University, the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.

“I feel happy and excited to finally accomplish this stepping stone in my life,” the 20-year-old said.

She told the Fiji Sun she wished her uncle was at the arena to see her graduate. However, her parents were present, having crossed a flooded bridge to get to Suva for her graduation.

She said her three year course was difficult, especially since she had to live far from her loved ones.

She credited her sister as the inspiration for studying to become a nurse. Edited by Jonathan Bryce
