Nadi Targets 2017 IDC

The Nadi Football team looks forward to the New Year.
After successfully retaining the Pacific Cup at Prince Charles Park last month, the Jetsetters have now set their long term goal to try and end their 14-year drought by winning the 2017 Courts Inter-District-Championship (IDC).
Nadi Football Association president Navneeda Gounder said, “Our aim is to try and get hold of the IDC trophy in 2017. Our senior boys have worked very hard and I applaud them for their effort this year.”
He said the 2016 has been a challenging and a tremendous year for them in terms of development.
“The team comprises young players who are 17 years old and we are developing them at a very young age, “he said.
“We had many young players who were playing in the league like Afraz Ali who is a student of Nadi Muslim College, Mataiasi Toga, Maki Nasova and Patrick Wise.
“We have let the boys go for a break, since we had a heavy schedule after the IDC in October.”
The jetsetters are the holders of the Vodafone Fiji FACT, Pacific Cup and Champion vs Champion.
Goundar thanked all those who have been behind the success of the Nadi team like Jack’s Handicraft and other co-sponsors.
The team kick-start preparation in February.
