Christmas is a time for giving, says Peter Hopgood

Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort general manager, Peter Hopgood said Christmas was a time for giving to the less fortunate.

Mr Hopgood and his staff travelled to the Sigatoka District Hospital yesterday to lift the spirits with some Christmas cheer.

The resort staff sang carols and distributed gifts to the patients, bringing out a festive mood.

Mr Hopgood said even if it’s the smallest item you are giving to someone, it does bring joy to their lives.

“If you can do something special for somebody, that’s something, because you’re giving,” he said.

“Christmas is a time for giving and for those who are less fortunate than us, people in hospitals.

“And no one wants to be in hospitals days before Christmas. That’s why we got the choir involved and gave gift packs just to try and cheer them up a little bit, that’s simple as that is.”

The Outrigger Group later on headed to Sigatoka town and continued with the distribution of gifts to children.

“We want to bring joy to the people of Sigatoka and I think the singing of Christmas carols and the bringing of gifts does bring joy,” he said.
