Two man charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption yesterday pleaded not guilty to the charges against them at the Suva Magistrates Court.

The matter was called before Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.

Josaia Dinono is charged with a count each of abuse of office and general dishonesty causing a loss.

It is alleged that Dinono between January 1, 2012 and August 31, 2012 whilst being a clerical officer with the Ministry of Education, facilitated the processing of false payments amounting to $33,012 to Dynamic Solutions.

Then Dynamic Solutions Director Venktesh Naidu is charged with obtaining a financial advantage.

It is alleged that Naidu between January 1, 2012 and August 31, 2012 whilst being the Director of Dynamic Solutions, caused payments amounting to $33,012 to be made to the company from the Ministry of Education.

The state was represented by Police prosecutor Sergeant Luke Qerewaqa.

Both accused elected to have their case proceedings at the Magistrates Court and not the High Court.

The case has been adjourned to February 20, 2017 for a pre-trial conference.
