‘Wanted’ Woman Fronts Court

A 20-year-old woman who has been on the Police Wanted List for some time appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Dipshika Singh was arrested in Lautoka and brought to Suva, as she is charged in relation to obtaining financial advantage by deception.
The matter was called before Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.
Singh, who is represented by the Legal Aid Commission, was approved bail by the court.
Her bail bond sum was set at $1000.
Singh told the court that she has no family, her parents are divorced and that she has a three-month-old baby.
Magistrate Liyanage told the accused to present a surety, who had to be a family member, when she next reappears in court.
The state was represented by Police prosecutor, Sergeant Luke Qerewaqa.
The case was adjourned to January 16, 2017, for mention.
