A 60-year-old man of Ba who allegedly raped his grandson had his case transferred to the Lautoka High Court on Friday.

The Magistrates Court in Lautoka was also told by Divisional Police Prosecutor West, Assistant Superintendent of Police Anil Prasad that another seven more charges of a similar nature would be filed before the next court sitting.

The court heard that the man lived on his own with the alleged victim, who was his daughter’s son.

It is alleged the man raped his grandson on a road while he (grandson) was on his way to the shop on November 5.

It is believed the matter came to light recently and the matter was reported to the Police.

The accused first appeared in a special court sitting on December 12.
