The three bus companies operating in Labasa will reduce their services today, tomorrow and Tuesday.

Dalip Chand and Son Buses Limited director Rohinil Chand said his company would continue with return trips to Savusavu.

“Our bus will leave Labasa bus stand at 9:30am and then depart Savusavu bus stand at 3:30pm,’ Mr Chand said.

“We will have this same run on Monday and Tuesday.”

Northern Buses Limited supervisor Jitendra Chand said the company would continue to have their normal bus trips from Labasa to Savusavu through the weekend.

“Apart from this we will have cut off trips on our routes to Valebasoga and Vunivau like after one hour instead of 30 minutes,” Mr Chand said.

“The hours will also depend on the number of passengers.

“The reason we decided to have cut off trips; because some shops in Labasa Town will be opened.”

Meanwhile, Parmod Enterprises Limited director Parmod Chand said the company would have some holiday trips and some non-holiday trips.

Mr Chand who is also the Fiji Bus Operators Association president advises bus drivers all over Fiji to take extra precautions while driving.

“Drivers please drive safely and at times ensure safety of passengers,” Mr Chand said.

“To the passengers please make sure to take your time while getting off and on the bus.

“Also see after the stopping, the bus completely passes by and when the road is clear then cross.”
