Damage To Traffic Light, Costly, Says Hutchinson

The Fiji Roads Authority chief executive, John Hutchinson has labelled the damage to the traffic light unit and the pole at Namaka in Nadi as costly.

In fact, he said FRA would need to replace some s of the equipment which needed to be procured from Australia.

“The traffic light unit and the pole have been completely written off as a result of the accident,” Mr Hutchinson said.

FRA understands this accident was allegedly caused by a drunk driver.

“The level of damage is costly and will result in some delays in completing repairs. The FRA is trying its best to restore it as quickly as possible.”

Therefore, currently the traffic lights at Namaka Nadi are not functioning.

The newly installed lights were knocked down by the  car on Christmas day.
