Social lies

More reason why everything on social media ought to be taken with a pinch of salt: So called ‘News’ about the death of former President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

To those who had been wanting to know if this was true, newsflash. It’s not.

Find the JP

Trying to get a Justice of Peace nowadays is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. This despite efforts by the Government to appoint more to provide more easy access.

A well known man of medicine was highly recommended by friends but when arriving at his doorstep was surprised to find a notice that he was on a Christmas break. As well in fine print was another notice which proclaimed ‘no more JP’

Another medical type who was also a JP had about 10 clients filling up his reception area, and CW was told that he was very busy.

The lady receptionist was told by busy fellow that it would be better for people to find another JP.

CW was finally relieved to get all papers stamped and endorsed at the 8th floor of the Suvavou House by a state lawyer who is a Commissioner for Oaths.

It looked like the state lawyer was assigned there full time to take care of parents and students who needed to get their papers endorsed for transfer to other schools or applications for tertiary education.

The biggest question for some JPs is why they take the position if they are too busy with their vocations?

Questions,questions

Did we just open the Pandora’s Box on a certain Chef de mission.

From calls received, some of her peers are also questioning what she has been saying.

Distant critic

Oh, dear, what could have gone wrong? Media mouth from down south who was in times past a darling of the young and not so young at USP Journalism seems to have become a critic.

Absence obviously doesn’t make the heart grow fonder.
