My Top Five Picks of Interviews With Bollywood Stars
Ajay Bhai Amrit with Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

The most common question I am asked when stopped in the street or chatting at a cafe from people I meet is what is the most interesting interview I have conducted.

My latest interview with the former President of South Africa in Johannesburg was certainly very inspiring but after interviewing over 500 iconic individuals in various fields it is indeed a difficult question to answer.

I am a very simple man whose main aim is to bring about discussions and hopefully inspire people who read or watch their interviews.

I think the best way to answer the question is to look at the interviews in three categories from the world of sport, Hollywood and Bollywood as they are all very different and also have a massive appeal not just in individual countries but across the globe.

Today I will list my five favourite interviews from the world of Bollywood. There are so many too choose from like Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hema Malini and the list goes on but the interviews I have chosen are special to me as I found the subjects very charismatic and interesting to say the least.

5) Anil Kapoor

At the age of 60 this individual has been gracing the Bollywood film sets for almost 40 years. During our interview Anil was very cordial indeed and took a lot of interest in our part of the world and at one point he was asking more questions than I was which was a pleasant surprise.

We bumped into each other later on and continued our conversation which I believe he was enjoying as much as I was. Anil Kapoor is a true gentleman of the film Industry.

4) Anushka Sharma

This very attractive and appealing starlet of the silver screen has made a huge impact in the film industry since her maiden film “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” in 2008 opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Still only 28 years old she has a maturity and work ethic that is impressive for all to see.

In fact Anushka was one of the rare interviews where I was inspired by her desire to succeed in Bollywood and she was also prepared to put in the hard yards to make this happen.

3) Kajol Devgan

Not a woman to mix her words, she is firm but fair in her outgoing personality and I found her irresistibly appealing through her no nonsense and practical approach to life.

Kajol has acting ability to burn and at the age of 42 is still regarded as one of the finest actresses of her time. I remember her wanting to be a very positive role model for women, mothers and children alike. When I asked what her favourite pastime was, she replied being a mother above all.

2) Shah Rukh Khan

This was a very interesting meeting to say the least, in fact we had to make a three part television series to cover the whole interview and from the feedback we got  it went very well indeed.

This interview was about the man and not the myth where we discussed family, kids, heroes and a number of more personal subjects as opposed to his movies.

Shah Rukh obviously liked it as he has invited me to his home in Mumbai in 2017.

1) Amitabh Bachchan

Not much can be said about this legend of Bollywood Cinema that hasn’t been said already, but I was honoured again to do a very lengthy three part television series covering his life from birth until today.

Truly an icon of his generation, this gentleman took me on a remarkable journey outlining his life and gave me a personal insight into what made him the man he is today.

Next week I will discuss my five favourite interviews in Sports.
