Sam Lee shares the lead with Australia’s Jack Wilson at the Asian Qualifying School at the Suvarnabhumi Golf and Country Club in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Nadi- based professional golfer posted a 67, 67 and 68 after three days for a total 202 of the Qualifying School Section A on Friday.

Lee (67, 67, and 68) and Wilson (65, 70, and 67) to give them a total of 202.

“I will stay here and play in Thailand before going straight to Melbourne to play final stage for Australian Tour qualifying school,” he said from Thailand yesterday.

“I’ve prepared, practiced well this year. Also very thankful for my sponsor Vuksich and Borich for making this all happen and all the support I am getting from family and friends both Denarau Golf and Racquet Club and Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course (David Roche).”

Players from Suvarnabhumi must finish inside the top-22 to qualify for the final stage.

Korea’s Sangpil Yoon moved to the top of the leaderboard after carding a six-under-par 66 for a one-shot advantage over Dino A. Giacomazzi of the United States at the Windsor Park Golf Club.

Having started his round tied for second, the Korean mixed his card with eight birdies and two bogeys to take pole position with his three-day total of 13-under-par 203.

Yoon is poised to extend his run at Qualifying School as only the leading 12 players and ties at the end of four rounds will qualify for the all-important Final Stage on January 11-14.
